Baggage System Upgrade
GUERNSEY
Following our successful baggage security work at Bristol Airport (the first UK major regional airport to obtain Standard 3 compliance) JPC was appointed as Client Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor for the Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) System Upgrade works at Guernsey Airport.
Project Summary
As part of this first stage circa £5m project, JPC managed and oversaw the procurement, installation, and integration of the necessary replacement HBS equipment to make Guernsey Airport compliant with the Civil Airport Authority Standard 3 regulatory requirement.
This required the replacement of the current conveyors and control systems and the integration of two Standard 3 scanning machines, associated equipment and infrastructure works within the footprint of the existing airport terminal building.
Both scanners were in operational use by March 2022.
